As the end of the comes to a close we say goodbye to our old room, and hello to a new one. Our new room is going to be a lot closer to our shop so this will be great! There was a lot of stuff to get done to get into our new room, and a lot of moving, but we can all say we are very excited about this change
The past few weeks the EV team and other students have been working on changing out Mr. William's golf cart batteries and replace them. We replaced them with six new Nissan LEAF batteries. This was a fun project, and last Friday we got to see our work pay off bi

This past semester our class has had a student teacher, Mr. Burgess. We have had a blast having him in class, but we know he has to graduate. We know he will be an amazing teacher, and his next set of students are lucky to have him.
This past weekend the EV Team went to NC State to compete at the STEP challenge. At this event the team brought home 1st place quiz bowl, 1st place A-Main Event, and 3rd place overall. It was a very exciting weekend, and the team had a blast. With only a few weeks to prepare and work on going to this event the team did exceptionally well, and can't wait to go back next year.
Past EV Team member Seth McCoy took sometime out of schedule to answer a few questions for an interview.
Q.) So, what kind of job do you have right now? And, did EV lead you to get a job like this?
A.) "I am a heavy equipment operator in the U.S. Army, and being on the EV team didn't really contribute much towards my decision."
Q.) Do you use anything you learned from EV at your current job?
A.) "I learned a bit from the EV team including, team work which is key, and leadership."
Q.) Do you have any stories from EV that you would like to share?
A.) "My most memorable moment while on the EV team is my first trip to N. Hampton, there was an S10 truck that had to have a substitute driver from another team, and while he was pulling up to start the range event one of the batteries exploded, which sounded like a cannon had went off."
Q.) Do you have anything else you would like to share about your job, your time in EV, or anything else?
A.) "I was on the team for 3 years, and learned a lot, and met a lot of great people. The most knowledgable person I met has to be Mr. Tolbert, he always allowed adequate time to accomplish the task at hand, he also didn't care to go in detail about anything. Mr. Tolbert was a huge influence on me and I would like to thank him on all he had taught me."
