The team worked very hard heading into this EVent. Kendra and Mackenzie nailed the adjustable seat design which performed perfectly. The entire team improved their track times throughout the EVent and reduced the number of cone deaths. Tyler was able to learn how to manage the AIMS race visualization technology. Marcelo was able to get his feet wet in every aspect of the competition. Harley overcame his fear of killing cones on the track and Isaac was able to squeak by Tolbert's time on the dry autocross track (just before dark). Tolbert was able to demonstrate emergency skid maneuvers. The EVent started a new competition category in safety by creating an emergency egress competition where everyone could participate and practice at their home school. EVeryone made new friends from the other schools. Information and equipment was shared by all. As always the EVent was the most enjoyable of the year and plans for improvements for next year are under way. A big ole THANK YOU goes out to all our sponsors, volunteers, and fans for making this experience happen at West Wilkes High School. Additionally this could not have happened if it were not for the Operations Manager of the North Carolina Center for Automotive Research Mr. Sam True. The NCCAR arena is by far the safest and most challenging course we could attend and all teams are so thankful for the opportunity. Last but not least we are Thankful for Mr. Harold Miller (the Grandfather of EVents) for volunteering his time and support for Sunday lunch. Without this level of support from everyone this EVent would not exist. Blessings to All!
